god bless you. god bless the united states of america. >> president obama clearly full of hope, speaking for a good half hour there in miami at miami central high school, and he could not have been more clear and talk about the timing, speaking there in miami about education and jobs on this day when the unemployment rate is down, private sector jobs up for the 12th month in a row and couldn't be more clear about the connection between investment in education, thus improving the economy and growing jobs but let me back up and talk to you why he was here at this particular school in mime dade. miami central senior high school committee it was one of those underachieving school. talking about the grades, for years they were getting an "f" grade from the state of florida, and what they did, and all of this is because of the thousands of dollars from the president's school improvement grants, is they fired their principal and they replaced nearly half of the teachers, so pretty strong medicine, you could say,
doesn't support this idea of a liquidation or bailout fund. neither does the white house. so it's subject to negotiations and those continue. >> shepard: all of this, major, on the heels of the feds accusing goldman sachs of fraud in relation to mortgage investments it sold back in 2007. is that a factor in all of this? >> it's a factor, shepard, because it creates a political environment where people say wait a minute, something really bad happened, goldman sachs is accused of lying to its investors, creating investment vehicle it knew was bad and got out of it before the investors did. that doesn't really change the political atmosphere structurally except in this way. republicans and democrats know if they're blamed or appear to be siding siding with figures le goldman sachs, voters acialt going to like it. >> shepard: major garrett out in the yard tonight. beautiful night at the white house. thank you. he made crucial difference for kids at underachieving school. now cops are trying to track a beloved middle school principal. and they say the attacker may have not been a stranger.
