Human rights advocate, Femi Falana, SAN, has approached the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State to seek an order compelling the Nigerian government to make basic education freely accessible in the country.  SaharaReporters learnt that Falana and his co-plaintiff/applicant Hauwa Mustapha filed the suit marked FHC/L/CS/142/2024, for themselves and on behalf of the Alliance on Surviving Covid-19 and Beyond.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana and Hauwa Mustapha have sued the Attorney General of Federation, the education minister, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), the Attorneys General of the 36 states of the Federation and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja over the education of Nigeria child of school age.  

Human rights lawyer, Mrs Funmi Falana (SAN), has dragged the 36 state governments and the Federal Capital Territory before the Federal High Court in Lagos over their failure to access N68bn Universal Basic Education Commission funds to provide free basic education for their citizens.
