Postal workers in Bury took part in a second day of strike action yesterday, Wednesday, over a pay dispute with employer Royal Mail.
The Communication Workers Union said more than 100,000 workers are involved, making it the biggest strike of the summer.
HEXHAM posties have joined 115,000 other postal workers in what has been described as the "biggest strike in the UK since 2009."
More than 115,000 staff have walked out, according to the Communication Workers Union (CWU). Strikes are also planned for next Thursday and Friday - September 8 and 9.
