UNH's Class of 2020 graduation day finally arrives with commencement


I actually finished in December of 2019, just before the pandemic hit, Brady said. I was supposed to walk, but that didn t happen. I think this is still pretty exciting, finally getting to graduate, to close this chapter of my life.
Brady majored in sociology and is now working at Seacoast Mental Health Center.
Because of COVID-19, there were no in-person graduation ceremony last year. Over the weekend, UNH held multiple ceremonies for the Class of 2021, culminating the weekend with a Class of 2020 commencement at Wildcat Stadium. A recorded keynote speech by CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer was played at all of them. ....

UNH unveils graduation plans for Classes of 2020 and 2021
DURHAM - University of New Hampshire Class of 2020 graduates will be able to officially turn their tassels on Saturday, May 15, 2021 per an email from the school’s commencement office.
Two ceremonies will be held outside that day, one at 10 a.m. and one at 4 p.m., to recognize the achievements of last year’s senior Wildcats, whose ceremony was postponed due to the fierce onset of COVID-19 last spring. 
“Like 2020 itself, your goals and accomplishments are unprecedented. So join your classmates in May to finally honor all your successes,” the email states. ....

In 1920, there were 949,889 Black farmers. A century later, according to the 2017 Census of Agriculture, only 35,470 remained.
This panel will investigate the contributing factors to this enormous land loss including discriminatory practices, such as the denial of USDA loans. and slow handling of civil rights complaints. Presenters will also share the innovative ways Black New England Farmers are reclaiming the land and sowing the seeds of health and empowerment.
