Karachi University's visiting teachers not paid for over seven months

The University of Karachi’s visiting faculty, which makes up 60 per cent of the total academics at KU, have not been paid their salaries for over seven months, The News has learnt.
According to the available information, contract teachers have not been paid since August 2020, even though they have repeatedly approached the university’s administration to demand their salaries. The officials concerned, however, are yet to take action to address the issue.
Due to the unpaid salaries, a number of cooperative teachers have already stopped teaching at KU, while several others have also informed their hiring authorities and heads of their respective departments that if they are not paid on time, they will quit. ....

Qatargas, Qatar University sign MoU for collaboration in research, consultancy and knowledge transfer


(MENAFN - Gulf Times) Qatargas and Qatar University s College of Engineering (QU-CENG) have signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the field of research, consultancy and knowledge transfer. The MoU was signed by Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulla al-Thani, chief engineering & projects officer, Qatargas, and Dr Omar al-Ansari, Qatar University vice president (Academic Affairs) in the presence of Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa al-Thani, chief executive officer, Qatargas, and Dr Hassan al-Derham, president, Qatar University.
On the occasion, Qatargas CEO said, This MoU is a reflection of the continuing and historical collaboration between Qatargas and Qatar University for the last two decades in the areas of education, research, knowledge-sharing, and community development. It also supports the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030. ....

Qatargas, QU sign MoU to boost cooperation in research

Doha: Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas) and Qatar University s College of Engineering (QU-CENG) have signed  a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the field of research, consultancy, and knowledge transfer.
The MoU was signed by Qatargas Chief Engineering & Projects Officer Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdulla Al Thani, and Qatar University Vice-President for Academic Affairs Dr. Omar Al Ansari, in the presence of Qatargas Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, and Qatar University President Dr. Hassan Al Derham.

Protests of anti-Zionism increase on US university campuses


(MENAFN)Tel Aviv University’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), the demonstration of anti-Zionism attitudes on US university campuses raised in recent years.
Anti-Zionism demonstrated in many ways, including plastering anti-Zionist flyers that charge Jews of “secretly infiltrating [the] government,” according to report author Miriam Elman.
Elman further stated that normal anti-Israel campaigns calling “to boycott, divest from, and sanction Israel” are marked at hundreds of campuses, including “some of the countries most prestigious and those with high Jewish-student enrollments.”
The report added that “Israel continues to be delegitimized and cast as a pariah state,” also stated that students view Jewish students as “imperialists, racists, and even Nazis and white supremacists.” ....
