Consecutive days between april the 11th and 15th. members of the british medical association have asked for a 35% pay rise which the department of health called unreasonable. the associations co chair said the government hadn t been willing to negotiate. official figures show that about 3% of families in the uk used food banks between april 2021 and march 2022. the government says that number rose to 11 % for families receiving income related benefits. those in the north of england and scotland were most likely to have used a food bank. there ve been sporadic clashes between police and demonstrators at some of the latest mass protests across france against a new law that will raise the retirement age from 62 to 64. in central paris, police fired tear gas and used batons to charge some demonstrators, after being pelted with fireworks, bottles and other projectiles. they made several arrests. there ve also been disturbances in nantes and rennes, but most of the rallies been peaceful. ....
