A new COVID-19 vaccine clinic is operating at the Strand Theater in Boston and the larger space is providing a much-needed shot in the arm for a community hit hard by the pandemic.It s the second act of the theater s fight against the virus, having previously hosted a testing site. I think everyone is excited. We’re thrilled to be here, said Dr. Paul Geltman, Chief Medical Officer for Upham s Corner Health Center. Being able to come out to the community like this and expand our capacity really is our way to support this community and get the COVID pandemic in control for them through vaccination. With assistance from the Massachusetts National Guard, the goal is to administer as many as 1,700 vaccinations per week at the theater.
