Hostile upper-level winds continue to make life difficult for the Tropical Disturbance known as Invest 96L in the middle of the Atlantic.

The tropical disturbance in the central Atlantic is already producing winds over 40 mph. So the National Hurricane Center will name it if it can pull itself together sufficiently to be categorized as a tropical storm.
