OHIO Nearly all of Ohio’s major marathons and half marathons were either canceled or held virtually in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Ohio relaxing its COVID-19 restrictions on June 2, many race organizers are announcing plans to hold in-person events for 2021.
This week, the Cleveland Marathon and Columbus Marathon both announced in-person races this October. Previously, the Akron Marathon and Cincinnati’s Flying Pig announced in-person events for the fall. The U.S. Air Force Marathon at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is moving ahead with plans for an in-person race.
A number of other smaller events will be scheduled throughout the summer across Ohio. One of those is the FORE! Miler at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin this Thursday. The four-mile race will kick off Memorial Tournament week at the golf club.
