14 policemen injured by religious organisation activists

GUJRANWALA: Police have arrested 398 Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) activists and got registered 15 cases for protesting, blocking the roads and damaging the public property during the last two days across the region.
The police told that on the directions of the Punjab government, the police had cleared all the roads from the protesters. They informed that 54 TLP activists were arrested in Gujranwala district, 25 in Sialkot, 93 in Gujrat, 100 in Hafizabad, 62 in Mandi Bahauddin and 64 activists were nabbed in Narowal district.

ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI/LALAMUSA/ LAHORE: The government has decided to ban Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) under Anti-Terrorism ACT as its activists, supporters and workers have been carrying out violent protests across the country for last three days against the arrest of their chief.
“The Punjab government has requested to ban TLP and summary would be forwarded to cabinet for approval,” Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said while addressing a press conference on Wednesday. He said TLP is being banned due to its involvement in violent acts in the country.
Two policemen were martyred and 340 personnel sustained injuries due to violent protests in last three days, the minister said. He said that TLP leaders used to come to all rounds of talks with the government after issuing instructions to their workers regarding road closures.
