After posting losses in the previous three sessions, the Canadian market turned a bit positive on Wednesday and ended the day's session modestly higher, led by gains in utilities and technology sectors.
The Canadian market is up firmly in positive territory Monday afternoon with stocks from several sectors posting strong gains thanks to sustained buying support amid rising hopes of interest rate cuts by several central banks, including the Fed, European Central Bank and the Bank of Canada.
After a slightly positive start and a subsequent drop, the Canadian market recovered and edged higher to eventually settle on a firm note on Thursday, as comments from Bank of India Governor Tiff Macklem that the central bank is getting closer to start reducing interest rates aided sentiment.
