Unionized workers at the Perry nuclear power plant in Northeast Ohio argue that plant owner Energy Harbor in Akron is trying to force them to pay higher health insurance costs despite a court order forbidding that kind of change. The union, Utility Workers of America Local 270, represents about 30 workers at the plant. Perry is about 30 miles east of Cleveland on the shore of Lake Erie. Anderson approves one-year contracts with two unions

David Eicks ANDERSON — The city of Anderson has reached a one-year contract agreement with two unions that will provide a 1% pay increase in 2021. The Anderson Board of Public Works on Wednesday approved contracts with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 1913 and Local 108 of the Utility Workers of America. The new contracts will take effect Jan. 1 and run through Dec. 31, 2021. Tom Brown, director of human resources, explained the contract provides for a 1% pay increase for 2021 base pay.
