VinFast's integrated electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility is in Thoothukudi. Last month, VinFast had confirmed its plan to start manufacturing EVs in India and had committed USD 500 million for the first phase of the project.
"Tesla would be looking into an EV manufacturing facility, Microsoft and Google are looking at data centres," Thailand's Prime Minister said, without detailing whether the $5 billion was expected to be a combined investment or made individually by each company.
