Ludhiana: The body of an unidentified man was found at a vacant plot near Bharat Nagar Chowk on Monday.

Recently, BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath had proposed to penalise owners of vacant sites whose properties have transformed into dump yards. He said that the civic agency had formulated rules under the solid waste management regulations and was in the process of circulating a new circular. According to these rules, owners of poorly maintained vacant sites will face penalties.

Kolkata Municipal Corporation: In case the owner can’t be traced, the KMC assessment department will create a new assessee number and add the cleanliness bill. Most of the these plots are in KMC’s added areas.
