During his regular pandemic briefing this morning, Governor Phil Scott and Vermont officials outlined plans for distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine as it becomes available.
While it is too soon to determine if the state will see an increase in COVID-19 cases from Christmas and New Year’s travel or gatherings, Governor Phil Scott hopes the current plateau will continue. Nearly 10 months into the pandemic he urged residents to continue following safety guidelines as the vaccine rolls out. “Our vaccination teams are meeting multiple times a day keeping track of what we’re getting in, what’s going out and the progress we’re making to ensure we meet our top goal of preventing as many deaths as possible. Vermont officials hold COVID-19 briefing
As people are celebrating Christmas this week, Vermont is working to get more people vaccinated against COVID-19.
We will vaccinate Vermont as fast as possible. We are receiving shipments weekly, says Dr. Mark Levine, Vermont s Health Commissioner.
Levine says 6,382 Vermont residents have been vaccinated so far, with people in long term care facilities receiving doses this week.
On Wednesday, Vermont received more than 11,000 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and is on track to have received 34,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine by New Year s. ....

Officials give vaccination update, urge Vermonters to stay safe for the holidays
Health Commissioner Mark Levine, MD, said at Friday’s press conference that all hospitals have now received their allocation of COVID-19 vaccine for the first week and have been busy vaccinating their higher risk healthcare staff.
