The review of the Plan of Action was concluded in April 2020 and the Validation Workshop was organized to gather inputs from AU Member States experts and cultural and creative industries workers prior to its presentation for adoption to the AU Policy Organs. 
During the opening, Ms. Cisse Mariama Mohamed, Director for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development (HHS) welcomed participants of the Validation Workshop of the Revised African Union Plan of Action on Cultural and Creative Industries. Director reiterated that the Revised African Union Plan of Action on Cultural and Creative Industries envisions an innovative, integrated, peaceful and prosperous Africa, where cultural and creative industries are the cornerstone of inclusive and sustainable development driven by its people and rich heritage. ....

OHCHR Conducts Knowledge Gap Assessment Survey


The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has conducted a Baseline Survey and Knowledge Gap Assessment of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions on Women Peace and Security (WPS) in Liberia. 
Key findings of the reports include limited knowledge and capacity to implement the nation’s action plan coupled with inadequate dissemination of the plan and orientation of the stakeholders regarding their roles and responsibilities.
According to OHCHR press release, others finding includes a limited understanding of the project and their roles and responsibilities, as well as, limited capacity in areas of innovative financing, gender-responsive budgeting, monitoring, advocacy and reporting; masculinity seems to be an unknown concept with limited understanding among the key stakeholders.  ....

MONROVIA The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has conducted a Baseline Survey and Knowledge Gap Assessment of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions on Women Peace and Security in Liberia.  
On Friday, March 12, 2021, a Validation Workshop on the findings of the Baseline Survey and Knowledge Gap Assessment was held in Monrovia. The validation was carried out by members of government Ministries and Agencies, civil society organizations, members of the NAP WPS technical working group, women’s organizations and other implementing partners from Nimba, Grand Bassa and Montserrado Counties. ....

NASC expresses optimism over policy document on seeds production, mgt

The National Agricultural Seeds Council, NASC, on Friday, expressed optimism over a policy document on seeds production and management to serve as a reference point in identifying varieties.
This was expressed in an address by the Director-General, NASC, Dr Philip Ojo, at a one-day ‘Stakeholders’ Review and Validation Workshop on the Draft National Descriptors for Select Varieties of Maize, Rice and Soybean’ held in Abuja.
Ojo explained that the essence of the workshop is to review, validate and adopt the document that will enhance production and management of seed fields, where it will assist in accurately and appropriately reporting and identifying seed varieties. ....
