The Wayne County Quilts of Valor Chapter and FNB will hold a ceremony for Vietnam War veterans Saturday at 2 at the Fairfield First Christian Church. Lisa Konopasek says about 35 veterans are set to be honored who physically served in Vietnam, and the group will also honor one World War II veteran. All veterans who will be honored Saturday have been contacted by phone and by mail; anyone who has not been contacted by Saturday will be honored at a later ceremony. The Mt. Erie Elementary School PTO will hold its annual Auction and Dinner fundraiser today at Willow Creek Venue. Meal service will be from 5 to 7, and Big Boy Catering will offer pulled pork sandwiches, cheesy potato casserole, and green beans. The auction will begin at 6 with Harvey Fenton auctioneer. All money raised will be put towards an outdoor pavilion by the playground for shade, lunches, outdoor learning experiences, and school supplies. The Wayne County Quilts of Valor Chapter will hold a ceremony for Vietnam War veterans tomorrow at 2 at the Fairfield First Christian Church. Lisa Konopasek says 54 veterans are scheduled to be honored, all of whom physically served in Vietnam. Only veterans who have received a letter from QoV will be honored at the ceremony this weekend; Vietnam Era veterans will be honored at a later date.
