What began as a four-score lead shrunk to one score for the Kirksville football team in the season opener against Macon on Friday. A hot start saw Kirksville jump ahead 28-0, but Macon fought back in the second half to pull within 34-26, but Kirksville managed to pull away in response and held on to win 42-26.

The Rock Bridge Bruins have a new head football coach. Matt Perkins will lead the Bruins after serving as the head coach at West Plains the last three seasons.
