Ford Built an Extreme Bronco Race Truck for King of the Hammers The purpose-built trucks do not include any road-going Bronco components. Ford Since re-launching last year, the new Ford Bronco has already raced at the Rebelle Rally and the Baja 1000. On Wednesday, the Bronco racing family will expand to include the King of the Hammers. Three Bronco 4400s, purpose-built racing trucks designed to look like the modern Bronco road car, will contest the top class of the off-road race. Ford s Bronco 4400s are based on custom tube frames, rather than elements from any production Bronco that will roll off the line. Ford did not share any specifics on the cars, but the incredibly open nature of the 4400 class indicates that the company s vague references to a high-power engine are hiding some serious specs.
