When all the pleas of Kasturinagar residents fell on deaf ears, they took matter into their own hands and cleaned up the space in 2017 and spent lakhs of rupees to remove heaps of garbage, level the ground and paint the flyover pillars. But now, all their efforts seem to have been trashed by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The Palike’s health department has put up a temporary structure below the flyover for a dry waste collection centre to take care of trash collected from a different ward (Vijinapura- ward number 51). However, if all goes well, the BBMP will asphalt these roads, making commuting easy for motorists.
