LONDON (AP) — Artist Veronica Ryan has won the prestigious Turner Prize for work that transforms materials including fruits, seeds and volcanic ash into elusive and evocative sculptures.
Sculptor Veronica Ryan has been named the winner of this year's visual arts Turner Prize. She was recognised for her work which included an exploration of Covid and the memorialisation of the Windrush generation.
The artist is awarded the prize for the “personal and poetic way she extends the language of sculpture”.
