Veteran who lost home in a fire surprised with new place to call home New home for veteran who lost her house and last updated 2021-01-26 19:49:34-05 JAY, Okla. — Teresa Birge lost her home just ten days before Christmas. She watched everything she owned in her home of 40 years burn to the ground. "It was just like everything you ever had was gone in just a few hours,” Birge said. Being an Army veteran, Birge never had a time in life where she felt hopeless, until the tragedy struck. "I was about to give up on everything, a month ago I didn't know what I was gonna [do]," she said.
