(NASDAQ: VSAT), a global communications company, today announced the appointment of Former National Aeronautics and Space Administration ( NASA ) Chief and former Oklahoma Congressman James Jim Bridenstine to its Board of Directors. Viasat reported today that it has received a renewal contract from the U.S. Navy, and will continue to offer up managed internet, Wi-Fi, voice, and other services fro personal use networks across Navy facilities worldwide. Financial details of that contract renewal were not announced. Viasat says the contract was a five year extension with the Navy Exchange Service Command s NEXCOM Telecommunications Program Office. Viasat said the renewal also includes rollout of new, interactive satellite-based high-definition TV service at 32 Navy Lodge sites. ....
