Obituary: Pattern cutter Edmund Freeman Renowned pattern cutter Edmund Freeman has died at the age of 82. Freeman first stepped foot in the industry in 1955, at the age of 15, when he joined his father’s women’s tailoring business as an apprentice. He later went on to work for his uncle's childrenswear manufacturing company. As part of this, Freeman set up and ran a new children's clothing manufacturing factory in Deal, Kent.
