Iran's Foreign Minister has wrapped up a two-day visit to Geneva where he addressed the 52nd session of the Human Rights Council.

India, on Tuesday, called on the United Nations Human Rights Council to show zero tolerance towards terrorism.

This year is a time to remember and reiterate two key instruments which have shaped responses to human rights implementation since the end of World War II in 1945. It was the task of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), based on a Resolution of the UN General Assembly adopted in 1948, to identify and list a number of key rights of a global nature.

The past year underscored the need to have and to ensure respect for strong and effective humanitarian disarmament law. Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, cluster munitions, antipersonnel landmines, and explosive weapons with wide area effects have been used in populated areas, mostly by Russia.

The first Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka (then Ceylon), Mr Rex Koelmeyer presented credentials on 23 June 1965.The present Ambassador/Permanent Representative H.E.
