Four more Chaves County residents have died with COVID-19, while new cases in the area rose by 60, according to a Saturday afternoon news release issued by the New Mexico Department of Health.
One man in his 60s and women in their 50s, 70s and 80s were the Chaves County decedents. All had been hospitalized. The county now has had 106 COVID-related deaths since May.
The local deaths were among 22 reported Saturday in New Mexico, bringing the state total since April to 2,732. The deaths included three each in Bernalillo and McKinley counties; two each in Cibola, Sandoval and San Juan counties; and one each in Colfax, Doña Ana, Eddy, Grant, Lea and Taos counties.
