A list of support options and resources can be found here. Almost 100 incidents of rape or attempted rape were disclosed to Durham University from 2014-2019, a Palatinate investigation has found. The figures appeared in a paper submitted to the University Executive Committee last December. The paper shows that 262 disclosures were recorded anonymously by the University between the 2014/15 and 2018/19 academic years. A total of 290 incidents were disclosed, around two-thirds of which concerned rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault. 290 incidents were disclosed between the 2014/15 and 2018/19 academic years Under the University’s 2017 Sexual Misconduct and Violence (SMV) Policy, disclosing and reporting an incident are separate actions. A disclosure involves someone “choosing to tell anyone who is part of the University community about their experience of sexual misconduct.” The paper states that “once a disclosure is made to a member of staff the Reporting Party has, by definition, disclosed to the University.”
