TO REDUCE CREIM BUT WE CAN’T DO IT ALONE IN THE COMING MONTHS USING FEDALER GRANT FUNNGDI THE DEPARTMENT WILL INTRODUCE SHOT SPOTTER A TECHNOLOGY THAT USES SENSORS TO TRACK WREHE GUN SHOTS ARE FIRED. THEY’RELSO A CONSIDERING A GUN BUYBACK INITIATIVE LIKE ONE USED IN 2014 THE DEPARTMENT SHARED IN 2020. THERE WERE 23 FATAL SHOOTING VICTIMS ITHN E CITY BETWEEN JANUARANDY THIS YEAR THE DEPARTMENT SAYS 12 PEOEPL HAVE ALREADY LOST THEIR LIVES TO GUN VIOLENCE ASSISTANT CHIEF WILSON WEAVER SAYS AN EXACT REASON FOR THE UPTICK CAN’TE B PINPOINTED PEOPLE NOW ARE RESOLVING THEIR INSTANCE THROUGH GUN VIOLEENC WHEN THEY’RE HAVING CFLONICTS.
