Zoom with Vose to learn recipe for Sterlingtown Public House dessert Event Location: Event has passed Vose Library welcomes Sterlingtown Public House Owner Jillian Lary for the January 27 Zoom with Vose Wednesdays at 6pm event. Lary will share and demonstrate her recipe for a town-favorite menu item – Chocolate Torte. Sterlingtown Public House was opened in 2019 by owners Jillian Lary and Brian Fickett and features an extensive beer tap selection and “upscale comfort food,” including salads, handhelds and entrees. Sidney Berger. (Photo courtesy Vose Library) Join Dr. Sidney Berger for a unique conversation for the February 3, Zoom with Vose Wednesdays at 6pm program – a college professor who teaches courses in rare books, special collections and bibliography; he is also the author of mystery, The Book of Death, now available at Vose Library. Dr. Berger has published about 100 scholarly articles, and is well-known for his vast knowledge of the history of paper-making around the world, according to Vose, in a news release. Dr. Berger s collection of over 22,000 pieces of paper is featured at the Berger-Cloonan Collection of Decorated Paper at the Cushing Library, Texas A&M University. ....

(Photo courtesy Vose Library) The Vose Library s January 20 Zoom with Vose Wednesdays at 6pm program “What’s Brewing: Craft Beer Today” will feature a talk by Bill Stinson, the owner and operator of The Pour Farm Brewery, a 3-barrel nano brewery located in Union. Stinson learned how to make beer at home in 1987, and opened a small commercial brewery 30 years later. Before brewing, Stinson had a career in technology. He lives next to the brewery in South Union. Binoculars, Telescopes and the Deep Sky set for Jan. 6 Union’s Vose Library to host virtual program. Share UNION Shawn Laatsch, director of the Versant Power Astronomy Center and Jordon Planetarium at the University of Maine, will take participants on a guided tour of the winter night sky and discuss the use of binoculars and telescopes for stargazing during the next Zoom with Vose Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Binoculars, Telescopes and the Deep Sky will be held Jan. 6. This program also is designed to offer information about the Vose Library telescope donated by Cornerstones of Science that will be available for patrons to borrow in the future. ....
