Was like what we ve been living in fear of peanuts and now this research. what s your take on this? well i love peanut butter i have to tell you, it s the staff of life as far as i m concerned. what we were told was not that introduce children to peanuts before they were 3 years old because we know that peanut allergy are very severe and can be life threatening and even fatal. and we know that peanut allergies have been doubling over the last ten years especially in the united states. this is giving us a totally new way to look at it. they took children they did test them first to make sure they didn t have peanut allergies. and then half of them they allowed them to have peanut butter a week and the other half didn t get any. what they found was those who ate peanut butter not peanuts, we don t want them to choke, but peanut butter decreased their amount of peanut allergy. so parents will see this and this is one study granted, i ....

Difference between the two groups. i can tell you, ana, for a long time there s been this belief that there s so much concern about peanut allergyies and they can be life flent threatening to be fair. but because of that, this idea of avoidance is common practice. avoid exposing them until they re a few years old. what this study shows is that is probably not a good tactic, even if your kid is predisposed to allergies, even if you as a parent had allergies, if you expose children early, iyou may have a better chance of not developing an allergy in that child s life. the big question now is how does that translate to big practice? are doctors going to start rexing or allowing parents to give children pie nuts early this life. and could this apply to other food allergies? ana, i think it s a big deal in the world of food and allergies and just clinical practice, what this means for parents and kids ....

this could help the concern why is the rate of peanut allergies going up seemingly, and what can be done about it? i can tell you what they have found as part of this particular study is a pretty big deal. what they basically is is they took groups of children who were at risk for developing allergies, they may have had eczema, allergyies to other food and basically divided them into two groups. one group had early exposure to peanut or some sort of peanut extract. another group had avoidance, no exposure at all until they were about 5 years old. and the question was, which group is more likely to develop peanut allergies. you can see out of 100, people who are exposed to peanuts, closer 2 out of 100 they developed allergies. if you re in the avoidance group it was closer to 13 or 14 out of 100, maybe a seven-fold ....
