PARCHMAN – An Itawamba County man, just before being executed by the state of Mississippi on Wednesday, used his final words to express remorse for killing a 16-year-old waitress two
Thomas Loden, 58, on death row for raping and murdering a 16-year-old girl in 2000, said he was 'deeply remorseful' before his execution.
Leesa Marie Gray was stranded with a flat tire when the man approached her to help.
Loden, a death row inmate who confessed to violently raping and killing a teen stranded on the side of a rural road, was put to death by lethal injection, marking the second execution in Mississippi in the last 10 years.
Thomas Loden Jr. is scheduled to be put to death at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Mississippi State Penitentiary in Parchman.
