Congress has now fielded Rajesh Bathli in place of Mahesh Sharma from ward 20 (unreserved). Sharma had expressed his desire not to contest the election, so youth leader Bathli has been given a chance from this ward.
According to reports, some of the Congress leaders didn't wait for the official announcement by the party and filed their nomination on Friday.
Party sources said that Nath also gave nod to release the list and to show the survey report to those likely to express displeasure over candidates selection.
Locals are heading to the polls on Saturday.
