(lsm.lv Laika ziņas) This March 1 has become the warmest in history, reaching +13 degrees Celsius in Mērsrags, according to information from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LĢVMC). Previously, the highest air temperature was recorded March 1 in 1959, when it reached +12.8 C in Rīga. Local heat records have also been reached in Pāvilosta, Kolka and Rūjiena.
