The group, Sustainable Warminster, say that plans to put 28 new homes on land at Damask Way will blight the nearby Smallbrook Nature Reserve and sites of outstanding natural beauty. TRIBUTES have been paid to a former Warminster mayor and Wiltshire councillor who has resigned after serving the town for nearly 26 years. Paul Batchelor decided to resigned his roles earlier this month. He is currently in Sardinia after deciding to stay there when Covid-19 travel restrictions were introduced. Mr Batchelor said: I have decided that this is the time to hang up my council robe as I explore other opportunities that life is offering me. At their full council meeting on Monday, Warminster Town Council members paid tribute to Mr Batchelor saying he had been an “excellent” councillor and representative of the town. ....
