Higher elevation areas across western states are forecast to see between a few inches and a few feet of snow in the coming days as a Pacific storm moves in.
Parts of Utah's valleys may receive a few inches of snow this weekend, while mountain areas could receive more than 2 feet of snow.
The Park City area will be a critical component to the upcoming discussions between the Salt Lake City-Utah Committee for the Games, which is the group seeking the award of the 2034 event, and the IOC. Park City and the Snyderville Basin would have an outsized role in a Games, similar to the 2002 Winter Olympics.
“Those implementation grants mean we can actually build infrastructure. We can build new road diets or whatever it takes to improve safety based on what the action plan says,” said Summit County Transportation Planning Director Carl Miller.
