Discover a burst of color on a gray winter day with a tour of the witch hazels in bloom at Green Spring Gardens.
Green Spring is home to a National Witch Hazel Collection of more than 200 plants on 32 acres, and winter is the best time to enjoy their beauty and variety. Wander through the park at your leisure to see them in bloom.
You can also learn more about these plants during the “Great Shrubs for Home Gardens” program on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021. Green Spring is offering a virtual option for the program from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
During the event, horticulturalist Brenda Skarphol will highlight a variety of beautiful flowering shrubs that grow well in Virginia home gardens. Get to know seasonal standouts for winter and spring, and learn the best ways to culture and showcase them in your garden.
