THE father of a man who was assaulted on his way to work in Norton has urged people to remain vigilant. Ryan Heslewood was walking along the snicket from Westfield, off Scarborough Road to Norton Grove industrial estate, when he was grabbed on the shoulder by an unknown male suspect who emerged from the bushes. After a brief struggle, Ryan, who is 27, managed to break free of the suspect’s grip before the man fled up the snicket in the direction of Fletton Road. Ryan’s father Gary Heslewood said his son had been badly shaken, but wasn’t badly hurt.
