A funeral service with full military honors will be held Saturday, April 24 at 10 a.m. for beloved Montgomery Bell Athletics teacher and rifle coach Lt. Col. Joe Sharbel, who died this week from injuries sustained in a road accident. He was 60.
The service will be held at Cathedral of Incarnation, 2015 West End Avenue and is limited to 300 attendees. A stream will be available at the MBA dining hall, where a celebration of life will begin at 11:30 that morning.
Sharbel, a retired Marine, died Monday after the accident occurred last Friday. Sharbel’s Buell motorcycle was struck when a Ford Escape attempted a left turn into the Kroger parking lot, according to Metro Nashville police’s initial investigation. The other driver, Anna Proctor, was released from Vanderbilt Medical Center with minor injuries. ....
