Type of mechanical or catastrophic event in the cockpit that forced that aircraft off course, to change heading, to apparently want to go to the nearest land at the nearest suitable airport. but there was no distress call. the acars was off. the transponders were off. that still leads me to believe that was human intervention. again, because the waypoints, the points, the flight path for that aircraft was put in and agreed to on the ground and in the flight management system. that was human intervention. and the suspicion has been, as you know, peter, in this no man s land before they enter vietnamese air traffic controllers after they leave malaysian air traffic controllers, if you re going to do something, that might be the time to do it. sure. sloppiness at the ho chi minh center. although ho chi minh did radio another malaysian plane 10 or 12 minutes after the last transmission and say, hey, have you heard from malaysian 370. and said, well, i reached them, but there was a litt ....

Than the last ditch effort. peter, i want to know from you, though, i mean, we have to assume that they know a whole lot more than they re releasing publicly. how much do you think they re holding on to and are they doing that because they really don t want to compromise the situation in any way or is it because maybe initially this search did not go as it should have gone, the investigation? robert s made a great point about transparency. that s one of the things about the u.s. system and the uk system of investigating accidents. the facts are on the table as they are discovered and confirmed. in this case, there has been a great reluctance on the part of the malaysians to release facts or to let even the group of investigators say, this happened. we don t know, as robert mentioned, whether this plane did use waypoints as navigating ....

Go to a series of waypoints. was that all programmed into the computer which would have said someone was at the controls and deliberately took that course? in any company there s a problem with connectivity. here you re looking at malaysian radar, chinese radar and the various pings. i think the family is right. they have to be more forthright with coming out with this data. if you take a circle route it s going to be a straight line. if it was on a magnetic heading it s going to be on more of a hunt and seek line, curved line. that s going to tell us more about what went into the s. i don t think we re being told enough and i don t think the families are being told enough to figure out. if this data had been made available weeks ago i think there are lots of smart people around the world, lots of big data analyst who could have looked at this and come up with fresh theories much more earlier ....

Because apparently they recalculated how fast the plane was flying across the malaysian peninsula after it made that left turn moving away from beijing, heading in the opposite direction. how did they miscalculate where the end point was? what did they do to refine it now by 700 miles? well, if you remember early on, we had the aircraft turning in multiple directions. we were concerned if the waypoints put it on the ground, in the air, we didn t really know. and there was so many potential variations in altitude, which certainly would change the entire fuel calculations, which would be the range of the aircraft. so i think what they were doing now, based upon the pingers, and different altitudes and different speeds, they have refined it now to a point where they really believe that this is going to focus in on the search area. this reassessment, you buy it? you gave us an indication yesterday that they were they had discovered this new area where they want to devote their search ....

Travel less distance because it travels at a lower speed. you are getting to the right impact point. perhaps to the wrong reasons. i think they are establishing that one spot by 35,000 feet as opposed to 12. that s my end of the terms. it may be just turned. the pilot put in the diversionary airport and began that turn and faced that bad in the cockpit and the waypoints may be that they went near those waypoints. i keep coming back to the notion that heaven for bid they don t find the black box and say they find pieces of debris and they never get to the key of what happened. could they extrapolate enough to come to a sort of conclusion as far as what happened? if they find debris, it will have to have tell tale signs of what happened and how the plane ....
