TESDA Deputy Director General Aniceto Bertiz III said the "Practicing Covid-19 Preventive Measures in the Workplace" course has been available since March 2020. "Initially, it was intended for TESDA employees as they return to work, and to TVET (technical vocational education and training) learners to help them prepare and protect themselves from Covid-19 in their future workplace," he told the Philippine News Agency. The length of this course is about 2.5 hours. (PNA file photo) MANILA - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has so far facilitated the Step 2 registration of 60,483,095 for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) project to date. These registrants have completed the capturing of biometric information such as fingerprints, iris, and front-facing photographs at various registration centers nationwide. PSA Undersecretary Dennis Mapa, who is also the National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, hopes the less restrictive community quarantine will allow more Filipinos to be registered in the PhilSys project. "Despite the previous challenges posed by Covid-19 during the early implementation of the PhilSys program, the PSA achieved its targets successfully. We thank our partners and the millions of Filipinos for their cooperation despite the limitations brought about by the pandemic," Mapa said in a statement on Tuesday. PhilSys registration has three steps. Step 1 is registration online via https://www.phils ....
Pasay City Hall (File photo) MANILA - The Pasay City government on Monday declared a major victory in its fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), with zero active cases. "No new Covid-19 case has been detected in Pasay City over the past four days, a major feat considering that it was once a hotspot for rising virus cases," Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano told reporters in a Viber message. The Pasay City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) said all Covid-19 patients admitted in all of its isolation facilities and in Pasay City General Hospital have already recovered from the disease. Rubiano attributed the significant drop in the number of cases to the government's massive vaccination efforts. Pasay has administered a total of 753,112 Covid-19 vaccines, with 334,034 residents are fully vaccinated and 81,188 individuals availed of the booster shots or additional doses, as of March 26. "We have to remember that there are a number of non-Pasay residents who a ....
