Baltinglass Lights up for Christmas

After failing to meet the deadline for a request for further information, Lidl Ireland has been granted a six-month extension by Wicklow County Council to solidify its plans for a new store in Baltinglass.

Groundbreaking plans for a Lidl store in Blessington, west Wicklow have been lodged with Wicklow County Council, which, if granted, would bring new jobs and a second low-cost supermarket into the rapidly expanding town.

Plans for a Lidl store at a site at Parkmore House in Weavers Square, Baltinglass are moving swiftly through the planning stage, with representatives from the low-cost supermarket expecting approval in July.

A FAMILY who had a double funeral for their parents last week after they both died from Covid-19 has urged people to respect the current restrictions to protect their loved ones and healthcare workers. Sean and Bríd O’Toole, aged 97 and 95, died within 37 hours of each other in a nursing home in Baltinglass, Co Wicklow.
