The application period for the annual A Community Thrives grant program opens June 1. The program has awarded more than $2 million to nonprofits nationwide.
View Comments Through June 30, nonprofits working to help struggling Arizonans can apply for grants up to $100,000 through this year’s A Community Thrives initiative. The 5-year-old giving-back program is organized by the Gannett Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Gannett Co., Inc., which owns The Republic and azcentral.com. Nationally, $2.3 million is expected to be awarded. Community Thrives has been good to Arizona nonprofits. Last year, 15 Arizona nonprofits shared $192,000 in A Community Thrives grants.
