A FLOOD alert has been issued for the west coast of Dorset - as residents are urged to take care on exposed coastlines.

A NUMBER of flood alerts have been issued across Dorset, with heavy rain forecast for the county in the coming days. Met Office has issued a 30-hour weather warning for West Dorset and outskirts of Dorchester and Weymouth between 9pm on Thursday, December 17 until 3am on Saturday, December 19.
