A proposed Lower Valley hospital district that failed in a public vote last August on what amounted to a technicality has a decent chance of passing this November — thanks
A measure to create a new hospital district in the Lower Yakima Valley is passing with 65% support, though turnout numbers will determine whether it is successful.
Proposition No. 1 was passing by 65% with 981 votes for, and 532 against, according to the early totals. More ballots will be counted in the days ahead.
If ever there were a textbook example of a grassroots response to a community problem, it’s the herculean effort that’s put a proposed public hospital district up for a vote
