On Groundhog Day, which takes place every year on February 2, legend has it that if the groundhog sees his shadow because of clear skies, we get six more weeks of winter. However, if he doesn't see his shadow due to cloudiness, spring will come early. Illinois' Woodstock Willie, the relatively svelte rodent, predicted an early spring, Crystal Lake-Cary, Illinois Patch reported on Tuesday morning. He emerged from a tree trunk in Woodstock Square for the coronavirus-friendly celebration and did not see his shadow.
