Just getting back to the finals of the MCAL boys water polo playoffs took a titanic feat for defending champion Redwood High. Winning the crown for the second year in a row took another major effort.
“This was an exciting game,” Archie Williams senior goalkeeper Haakon Lacy said after the Peregrine Faclons’ 18-10 victory over Marin Academy.
“It’s always a big rivalry game with Redwood,” said Lacy, a three-year varsity starter for the Falcons, who defeated rival Redwood 10-8 on Thursday.
Whit Flake grabbed the loose ball amid the chaos in front of the Terra Linda net and pounded it into the back of the net for the winning goal during a frantic finish Wednesday as Archie Williams emerged with a 13-10 victory in a key duel between two MCAL playoff hopefuls.
