ROCHESTER, Minn. - After crawling around Rochester for five days, a Rochester hero saved the Argentine Black & White Tegu Lizard after finding the reptile near the Oakwood Cemetery.
Florida has 139 non-native species residing in ecosystems across the state, with seven of them being harmful to native species, and ecosystems, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation and Commission.
The Black and White Tegu Lizard is no longer lawfully allowed in South Carolina. It is illegal to bring black and white Tegu Lizards into South Carolina or breed them in the state as of last Friday. "It's pretty concerning with the potential impacts that they could have," says South Carolina's Department of Natural Resources State Herpetologist Andrew Grosse.
