Politics can t fill our needs : National Day of Prayer events draw High Desert faithful

With heads bowed, the faithful lifted their voices alongside local religious leaders, who prayed for America during a ceremony on Thursday in Apple Valley.
“Politics can’t fill our needs, only Jesus can,” Community Church at Jess Ranch Pastor Michael Coffee said during the mid-day event in the courtyard of Apple Valley Town Hall.
Thursday s local gathering was part of the 70th anniversary of the National Day of Prayer and one of many scheduled across the High Desert and U.S. under this year’s theme, “Lord, Pour Out Your Love, Life, and Liberty,” which comes from 2 Corinthians 3:17. ....
