The site of the proposed Whittle Brook outfall PLANS to protect hundreds of homes in Penketh from flooding have been submitted. The Environment Agency has teamed up with Warrington Borough Council for the major scheme around Whittle Brook and Penketh Brook. Widnes man sentenced for punching his 80-year-old dad in a street

Daniel McAdams saw his 80-year-old father about 3.30pm on Monday, February 1. As his dad was about to go into a café, on Widnes Road, Widnes, McAdams approached him and called him a name. McAdams, of Moorside Court, Widnes, then punched his father in the face. The victim fell to the floor, as did the glasses he had been wearing, and the assault left him with a serious facial injury. He was given assistance by members of the public before being taken to hospital in an ambulance. McAdams walked away following the assault and was arrested at his home within an hour.
