Wilkesboro police are investigating the deaths of two people who were found dead under a bridge Sunday.According to police, the victims are a male and a female, both in their 30s.Police say the deaths were the result of felonious hit-and-run crash, that happened sometime in the recent past, Wilkesboro Police Chief Craig Garris told WXII 12 News. Garris said a vehicle hit the two victims as they were walking on the Yadkin River bridge, near the Arby s restaurant on Curtis Bridge Road. The two victims were knocked off the bridge and fell onto a grassy area underneath.Garris said dispatch received a call around 2:25 p.m. Sunday afternoon to investigate after the bodies were found.The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of the family. A three-day search for a man wanted for a double homicide in western Gaston County ended early Monday morning more than 60 miles away in a hotel in the foothills of western North Carolina. Police from two counties and four agencies captured 19-year-old Michael Shane Barnes of Taylorsville as he left a Quality Inn off U.S. 421 in Wilkesboro just after midnight. Barnes was booked into Gaston County Jail at 7:48 a.m. Monday without bond on two counts of first-degree murder in the Feb. 18 shooting deaths of Robert Lucas Luke Gibby, 22, of Bessemer City, and Adam Kale Wood, 19, of Kings Mountain. ....
